Dumpster Sizes

At Manhattan Waste, we offer dumpsters in the sizes of 10, 15, 20, 30, and 40 yards. Each dumpster is suitable for certain junk removal projects. The smaller the project, the smaller the dumpster. The bigger the project, the bigger the dumpster. If you’re cleaning out a garage, for example, a 10-yard dumpster will do the trick. We can deliver a 10-yard dumpster to your driveway within 1-2 business days so that you can clean out your garage and finally park the car there again. It doesn’t just stop with the garage, either. We have a variety of dumpsters that are suitable for a variety of projects, and much like there are a number of factors that determine the price of a dumpster, there are plenty of factors that go into deciding which size dumpster to rent.

Whether your junk removal project entails home cleanouts, home restoration, landscaping, or something else, Manhattan Waste has a dumpster for you. Below are the dumpster sizes we offer and the most common junk removal projects associated with them.

10-Yard

The 10-yard dumpster is the smallest container we offer, but it can still hold the equivalent of three pickup trucks worth of materials. This size is useful for a number of small cleanups around the home, as well as some construction and demolition work:

  • Yard cleanups
  • Garage cleanouts
  • Spring cleaning projects
  • Light room remodels

20-Yard

The 20-yard dumpster is the mid-size dumpster and the most commonly rented dumpster, holding up to six pickup truck loads. Given its versatility, this size dumpster is suitable for a variety of projects. Order a 20-yard dumpster for:

  • Deck removals
  • Floor removals
  • Bedroom remodels
  • Roofing jobs
  • Big landscaping jobs
  • Dirt/concrete removals

30-Yard

The 30-yard dumpster is associated with bigger projects. This size dumpster, which can hold up to nine pickup truck loads, is a great height if you’re looking to dispose of large furniture.

  • Large deck removals
  • Large pool removals
  • New home construction
  • Interior renovations
  • Whole home cleanouts
  • Small home demolitions

40-Yard

The 40-yard dumpster, which can hold up to 12 pickup truck loads, is needed for the biggest of projects and should only be used when you have excessive amounts of waste.

  • Large home cleanouts
  • Demolitions projects
  • Major interior renovations
  • New construction
  • Roof replacements
  • Community cleanup events

Where Can I Put My Dumpster?

Where your dumpster is placed is just as important as deciding which size to get for your project. When you call, a customer service representative will ask where you want the dumpster to be placed. If you’re a residential homeowner, the driveway is the most common place to have a dumpster dropped off. If you want your dumpster dropped off in the driveway, just make sure there’s nothing blocking the entrance, such as a car. Also, keep in mind that if you have a small driveway and need a 30 or 40-yard dumpster, a dumpster that size may not fit in the driveway. We can also drop your dumpster off in the street in front of your house, but in order for that to happen you would have to obtain a street permit. You can access a permit from the city. A street permit allows us to legally leave a dumpster by your home. Obtaining a street permit in New York City can be done in a few simple steps.
